Hungary: Where to eat in Budapest

During our summer trip last year to Budapest, Bratislava and Vienna, we definitely found Budapest to have the yummiest food - and the cheapest food. Here's where we ate:

First up, we had dinners at Negro Mangalica and Remma's Bistro. Which both serve up Hungarian food. I had goulash at both as a starter, which I feel has to be done in Hungary. Expect lots of pork dishes at Negro Mangalica since Mangalica is an Hungarian breed of pig - and one that is very delicious, too. Plus we also had a yum dinner at Mazel Tov - it's Middle Eastern/Israeli food with greenhouse vibes to the decor.

Lunches were had at Papitos (yum Mexican street food; pictured below), Retek Bisztro (more Hungarian food - cute place with delicious dishes; also pictured below), Tom George Osteria (had a caramelised duck pizza, which is not a flavour pizza I've ever had before - definitely an unusual and tasty one) and TwentySix (like Mazel Tov, greenhouse vibes with sharing plates). Plus breakfast at Lion's Locker.

Every place we ate in I'd recommend, in all honesty - Budapest is a very foodie capital city. Your tummies will thank you if you go there! x
