TMTW: September and October 2026

What happened:
In September, I went to the Welsh-English borders and hiked part of the Wye Valley. Went mudlarking between the Old Royal Navy College and Greenwich Power Station where I didn't find anything older than from the 1980s! Started therapy. And had a Sunday Riley facial at Liberty.

In October I headed to Brighton to have fish and chips on the beach, then went to the Royal Pavilion (so opulent) and the Brighton Museum & Art Gallery (not a must-see). Had book club for Heart the Lover by Lily King (3 stars). Went to Dorset with friends for a few days by the sea, which included a walk along the beach, a sauna with a view of the golden West Bay cliffs and a dip in the sea, a visit to Chesil Beach, plus feeding the swans at Abbotsbury Swannery (there were hundreds and hundreds of swans!).

Finally had a mooch around The Wallace Collection, so another thing ticked off my 2026 bucket list. Had a check up for my endometriosis and adenomyosis. Did the face and body ritual at Dimple Amani at the flagship in Knightsbridge, which was 90 minutes of lymphatic drainage. I'd wanted to try this for ages and I'm not sure I'd do the body part again - probably just the facial. Went hiking in the New Forest (circular route from Lyndhurst to Brockenhurst (childhood home of Arielle and Ob!), then back. And went to see Rent on the West End with Gaten Matarazzo.

What I ate:
Dinner at Panevino in Chepstow after hiking (yum carbonara). Back in London, dinner at St John's Tavern and The Table, the Fortnum & Mason x Get Baked hunny caramel Bertha cake, a Popeyes takeaway (love a biscuit), brunch at Milk Beach (bang average food), tried the traditional London pie, mash and liquor to tick off another of my 2026 bucket list items (delivered from M. Manze to home; not my cup of tea!), fish and chips in Brighton at Captains Fish and Chips, a Chick-fil-A takeaway (yum burger) and dim sum at DanDan. In West Bay: Fish and chips from S&E, brunch at Rise (fab spot) and dinner at Bridport Arms (seafood chowder FTW).

Back in London: A Sunday roast at The Grazing Goat (which was my first Sunday roast club that I set up; it went very well and the roast beef was yum), lunch at Chicken Shop (nice but preferred Chick-fil-A's burger), lunch at Broken Eggs (nice but over-hyped), brunch at Bill's (got there, some of us ordered drinks whilst waiting for everyone to arrive and I ended up with boiling hot coffee spilt all over me so had to leave - I still cannot believe this happened) and a Slim Chickens at home to make up for not getting brunch after this. Plus a cream tea at The Greenwood Cafe in Lyndhurst, drinks at The Harts Boatyard and more dim sum, this time at Dim Sum Library.

What I read:
In September I listened to 5 audiobooks and read 11 books. Wang, Brave New Summer by Sarah Morgan and Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke. In October I listened to 6 audiobooks and read 6 books. Nothing stood out.
