What happened:
Hosted Easter at ours. Caught up with friends (over yum food). Then headed to Yorkshire for my birthday celebrations. We started with Whitby, followed by Castle Howard, Helmsley Castle, a squiz at the Kilburn White Horse and Byland Abbey.
On my birthday we went to Knaresborough to visit Mother Shipton's Cave, then on to Fountains Abbey, before we headed to The Coniston Hotel Country Estate & Spa to stay and relax with a spa session. Hiking in Malham was a must since were in the Dales, then we came home via Stratford-upon-Avon the next day. (Blogs... at some point!)
What I ate:
A delicious chicken katsu curry at Tanakatsu, Sabrina Ghayour's chocolate and pistachio dream cake (delivered from Dishpatch; didn't actually rate this one), some yum veggie food at Folde, tasty Indian food at Tamila and the chef's menu at Levan (so good!). Plus pizza and wine at The Mount Vineyard in Kent.
In Yorkshire: Fish and chips from Royal Fisheries in Whitby (with scraps - woohoo!), Korean street food at YUZU Street food in The Tap Room, drinks at Cafe Montmartre in Whitby, breakfast at Castle Howard, an amazing Sunday roast at The Abbey Inn, (I'm going to claim it as a Michelin-starred) breakfast at The Black Swan in Oldstead, then breakfasts and dinners at The Coniston Hotel Country Estate & Spa and Falcon Manor in Settle, where we stayed our last two nights. Tapas dishes at Prospero Lounge in Stratford-upon-Avon, and I had the birthday Bert from Get Baked.
What I watched:
Finished watching season 2 of Shrinking and season 2 of High Potential, watched season 1 of Your Friends & Neighbours, Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars, continued watching Saturday Live Night UK and started watching season 4 of Scrubs. Films watched: The Drama (at the cinema), The Watch, Crime 101, Mercy, Playdate, Project Hail Mary (at the cinema for the second time, but this time in IMAX), Drive Me Crazy, No Hard Feelings, National Treasure and National Treasure: Book of Secrets.
What I read:
In April I read nine books. I gave four stars to Leave No Trace and Human Remains by Jo Callaghan, and also to Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid. x
