What happened:
Started the month with a poorly Jasper - hello vet bills - which at least coincided with Olly starting his new job. Hurrah! Was floored by what I thought was tree pollen, but now think was my first cold since December 2024. Yuck. Plus an adenomyosis/endometriosis flare up. Joy. Was in Yorkshire visiting family. And that's about it! A quiet, sickly month.
Finally had dinner at Berenjak. Did the Dishpatch Golia butter chicken kit at home. And their Andi Oliver Cubano-style pork belly kit. Had a Nando's and some fish and chips in Yorkshire (of course). And a Sunday roast at Bordelaise, back in Surbs (pictured above - the beef was excellent but the trimmings were minimal).
What I watched:
TV shows: Finished watching The End of an Era, season 2 of The Last of Us and MasterChef: The Professionals. Watched season 3 of Scrubs, season 5 of Only Murders in the Building, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and started watching season 2 of Shrinking. Films watched: Project Hail Mary (at the cinema), The Martian, How to Make a Killing (at the cinema) and Weird: The Al Yankovic Story.
What I read:
In March I read 10 books, including a reread of Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir (five stars again, all the way). I also gave four stars to The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man's Fear, both by Patrick Rothfuss, and to Should We Stay or Should We Go by Lionel Shriver, In the Blink of an Eye by Jo Callaghan and Magpie Murders by Anthony Horowitz. x
