What happened:
It was back to work, but it wasn't too bad for me as at the end of the first full week of January we jetted off to Thailand! (The last week of January when we got back from two weeks of sunshine, however... :s)
What I ate:
My favourite brunch at Hideaway and a work dinner at No 1a Duke. And, of course, plenty of Thai food in Thailand. (Though did have some excellent Burmese food at Burma Kitchen in Fisherman's Village on Koh Samui.) Highlights for Bangkok were the tasting menu at The House of Smooth Curry, crispy pork at Kuay Jab Mr Joe, and duck noodle soup from the Nong Duck Noodle stall in Chinatown. In Koh Samui: Thai food from Khaw Glong, Plai Laem Tam Sung and Chom Chada.
TV-wise, we finished watching Shogun. Films watched: Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Back to the Future, Back to the Future Part II, Back to the Future Part III, Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, The Fall Guy, Twisters, Saturday Night, Civil War, The Burial, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and Bad Boys: Ride or Die.
What I read:
In January I read 12 books. I gave four stars to Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano, Thorn in my Side by C.J. Skuse, Babel by R.F. Kuang and Fourth Wing and Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros.
How has 2025 kicked off for you all? x
