You are in for a treat if you're visiting St Julian's in Malta and you're a bit of a foodie. We did not have a bad meal whilst we were there. In fact, we had consistently excellent meals throughout our stay.
Thinking of dinner? Then I strongly recommend you head to Hammett's Mestizo where you'll have their delicious Meso-South American fusion food. The ceviche was our favourite dish (pictured below with their tacos) but it was all very tasty. Another fusion spot for you to try, in the opposite bit of the world, is KuYA Asian PUB. There's a mix of all Asian cuisine on the menu - Thai, Korean, Japanese, Indonesian and Vietnamese - and it's all super yum.
With a great view of Balluta Bay, Wigi's Kitchen has a fabulous changing daily menu. Starters range from €10-18, whilst mains are €25-35. I enjoyed the pan-seared scallops starter with sweetcorn and avocado relish and crispy pancetta. Then went for the duo of slow-cooked lamb rump and lamb rack as my main (both pictured below). I kept it simple with lemon sorbet as my dessert. All delicious.
Finally, just a quick ten-minute drive from St Julian's, I'd highly recommend you head over to Chophouse in Sliema, which also has an amazing front-row view of Valletta, Malta's capital (top of this post). We did the degustation menu, which is seven courses of scrumptiousness for €55 per person - plus €25 more if you're adding the wine pairing, which we did. An absolute bargain for such superb flavours.
