TMTW: December 2021

What happened:
A bit of a weird month, that didn't feel too Christmassy. Had my work Christmas party early on and did a team curling session (at Coal Drops Yard; £5 each and it's around until February), but that was about it because of COVID worries! Meaning we also postponed our Back to the Future theatre trip - and I didn't get to see London's Christmas lights and decorations.

My parents were supposed to come to ours for Christmas but didn't feel safe because of the Omicron numbers in London, so we headed to Kent instead and had lunch out on Christmas Day. Thankfully we managed to avoid COVID but, if we had have caught it, we managed to get our boosters in December so it would have (hopefully) been mild. New Year's Eve was a quiet night in, back home in London. And that was December.

What I ate:
My work Christmas party was at Bingham Riverhouse, I had breakfast at Cafe Fleur, dinner at Dishoom with the team after curling, a fab roast at The Open Page, yum burgers from The Bull in Tunbridge Wells during Christmas Eve drinks, and a lovely three-course meal on Christmas Day at the Nevill Crest and Gun. Plus we did the Almost Famous phoenix burger kit again with Bitch Juice, which was as delicious as it always is.

What I watched:
Finished Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists (so bad), season 3 of Superstore and Kevin Can F*** Himself, plus watched season 4 of Superstore, season 3 of Succession (the best), Landscapers and Hawkeye (set in a Christmasy NYC - perfect!)

Films watched: He's All That, Home Alone, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, Love Hard, The Matrix, Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey, The Matrix Reloaded, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Ready Player One and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. At the cinema: House of Gucci and Spider-Man: No Way Home.

What I read:
In December I read 17 books. Just one 4* rating this month: The Flight by Julie Clark.

How was your Christmas? x
