New York City: Solomon R Guggenheim Museum

Next up in my New York series is the Solomon R Guggenheim Museum, located in the fabulous Frank Lloyd Wright Building on 5th Avenue.

The  cylindrical Guggenheim building, which is wider at the top than it is at the bottom, was Frank Lloyd Wright's last major project. It's incredible how the art flows around the levels.

Entry to the Guggenheim costs $25 (we used our New York Pass), and we comfortably saw everything in about an hour. Visit on a Saturday between 17.00 and 20.00 to pay what you wish.

Expect to find pieces by the likes of Jackson Pollock (Alchemy pictured above), Paul Gauguin, Pierre Bonnard, Kazimir Malevich, Kandinsky (below) and Alice Trumbull Mason - to name just a few of the contemporary and modern artists exhibited at the Guggenheim.

Isn't it quite something? x
